Re: **** What would you do ****

If possible, I would find another pig ASAP! Most fairs require 60 days of ownership.

Re: Sow won't cycle again

I had a similar experience and used Matrix with success. I fed Matrix for 16 days and then used PG 48 hours after the last dose of Matrix. She came into heat with strongest, most textbook signs, I had ever had out of her. Stopped Matrix on Friday AM, gave PG on Sunday AM, was standing on Thursday PM...

Re: Video added! Gilt walking bow legged, toeing in on rear

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is a structural defect that "should" or "will" get called out every time by any judge. It doesn't matter how well the animal looks in all other traits. When a judge or breeder talks about "squareness" this is part of it. Bum...

Re: Help! Weight gain!

I hate to discourage you, but it probably ain't going to happen. If you have an animal that has been chronically ill it will be virtually impossible to turn it around in that short of a period.

Re: Feed and Soundness

There's probably a book that could be written to answer those questions. The basics is that you don't want to feed high protein feed for too long. You are looking for balance in muscle, fat cover and design. Too much muscle can lead to tighter stride, etc. You should be constantly evaluating your pr...

Re: Fitter 35

The Fitter is a high protein supplement that will also help with top shape. Good to use at 110. Champion Drive is the product to use with your heavy weight to help that top shape without burning cover. you could even use it on the Duroc and Cross with the fitter 35. KGB will probably weigh in here w...

Re: Purina Suggestions KGB?

Not sure there is a supplement to widen the front end...that is genetics. Do you need muscle up top or fat? A little too early to be putting on the fat, but High Octane Champion Drive from Purina is the product you are looking for.

The user "Darin" on here can you give you info...he's seen him in person. He told me he's the real deal..worthy of the high price. All the piglets I've seen out of hum have been pretty outstanding.

Re: Need Weight Gain

Anyone who answers is going to have you run the gauntlet of these questions (and maybe more): How's the water? Clean, cool and available? Any signs of sickness? Cough, runny nose, low energy, etc.? Have you dewormed recently? How much is she eating now? Are hand feeding or limit feeding? In all real...

Re: Feeding fat

Milk replacer works well, but it isn't as high a percentage of fat as the show brands. We have been using the hi fat feeds from moorman's and the showtec 3-D oil. It is really easy to feed and seems to go a ways in terms of volume. It also helps with skin and hair really well. When it comes to cover...

Re: Show pig getting to fat

Starglo should help, but Purina's FITTER 35 is an awesome product to help trim fat.

A regular exercise routine is also going to be your friend.
