Re: Boar for keeper gilts

I would have to agree with Killer Instinct, he's a boar that really seems to throw really nice keeper gilts.

Re: Hampshire boar to make pure females??

That's very interesting about MAB and the color pattern he's throwing. Yeah Thunderstruck is one that is out of the price that I'm willing to pay. Had a guy couple months ago tell me MAB looked like a crossbred just makes me wonder I guess, has anyone seen Carry On at HiPoint?? Basically when I'm lo...

Hampshire boar to make pure females??

I just purchased a full sibling to sledge hammer at SGI and was looking to make purebred gilts from her. Like to see her opened up just a touch more and I think she needs a little more power throughout. Really an ideal hamp gilt that I think can make a guy a really nice group of purebred gilts. Was ...

Weanling Extravaganza Question

Believe I'm headed over to this for the first time figured I'd ask the guys more experienced with it. I'm going up there with the intentions of buying and was wondering is it beneficial to watch the sift?? Most sifts I've seen are just a pig free for all and really hard to keep up with the pigs leav...

hand feed throughout vs full feed

Have had this discussion with several people over the course of a few days and was wanting to get others opinions. Your fair pigs do you full feed throughout and then do your final fitting up in the last 3-4 weeks or do you choose to hand feed the entire time??

Re: It's All Good at Hi Point, litter question

rvance: that is the perfect post for what I'm looking at, on the sow they looked the part some of the back legs wasn't crazy about. Then weaned them at almost 4 weeks and looked different not for sure if it was moving from the tenderfoot crate to concrete but they took it harder then any of the othe...

No can't put litter size on him, my sow had 15. Good color marked up just like him throughout entire litter.

It's All Good at Hi Point, litter question

Was wondering about the litters that people have had from It's all Good. I've got a litter right now that is just 4 weeks old and just not quite up to my expectations at least not yet. Was wondering what people thought about with the litters out of him and at what point they started looking the part...

Given how much he's been used by Stohlquist your best source of information is going to be calling them up and asking them.

Yeah I do have the PIN tag's and was planning on using them wasn't for sure how much of a difference that would make when taking them to United Producers.

Current Sow prices in your area

Was looking at cutting back on a few sows but wanted to get a summer time litter out of them before getting rid of them. However, I was curious to see what the local market was doing for sows and I was BLOWN away by how bad it is right now. On Monday the local market sent 15 sows through the auction...
