White or Light Cross Boars

Anybody out there have suggestions for a light or white cross boar that might have some pigs on the ground looking promising? Even a york boar that might be making good crosses?

Re: Which Way Should We Be Going?

I picked soundness first, There is a lot you can do with a feed bucket. Muscle second, after all you still need to have a pig with the potential to have enough of the right kind of muscle. I picked depth of body and rib third, because I absolutely HATE no eating pigs. I agree with you 100 percent!

S Curve in the Uterus

I had an interesting farrowing today. Most of the pigs were getting hung up under the pelvic bone. Here is a link to a diagram I found. http://nationalhogfarmer.com/reproduction/see-what-you-feel-assisted-farrowing-guide#slide-7-field_images-13891 They say this is due to a large litter pulling the u...

<t>In order to trick mother nature with light, you must enclose the subject in an area, so the light is bright enough in every corner. You need 16 hours of total light between normal daylight and artificial. <br/> <br/> I have used lights for years with my horses and occasionally with a pig if one t...

I have been in business 30+ years and I can tell you I have made more money by calling people back and responding to problems or issues. It's called customer service and maybe the Boar Studs and the Breeders should troll these forums to put out the fires they seem to start if they really are concer...

There are many factors that go into getting your sows settled. I think everyone knows this. I think its very easy to blame the boar stud when their sows miss. I personally try to use local boar studs so I don't have to ship semen. I think the majority of the quality issues are in the shipping and h...

Re: Litters

I bred one that is due about January 10, so September 18 breeding or so. She passed over, and is visibly making progress, so something was good. Also heard the same thing last spring, we bred 4 sows to him. Litter average born 11.5, lowest 9. Super Monster giving us no problems, sorry to the rest o...

I used him on a Big Stick X Batman. I really liked the litter as young pigs and at market age.
