Will there be live streaming via video for us in Texas to watch?

You would think with how much that sale generates and the impact on the fall breeding season that the boars from that sale make, that they would live stream at least the sale if not both the show and sale.

Poor marketing on their part. That could turn into a real rock star event if promoted correctly.

Totally agree with Mary Okie. They said maybe next year. That's exactly what they said last year when I asked.

They could fund the live video by charging a very small buyer premium which would benefit the buyers by advertising their new boars. Taking the total sale amount from last year $760K a half percent premium would be $3800.

Where is the best site to see the reults at the end of Sunday?

I got to preview the Ottenwalter boars 2 weeks ago and am anxious to see how they place. Very nice set of boars. Really liked the 68-3 Bone Daddy boar.

Sorry but it will not be broadcast in 2013

To the many that have ask if it will be webcast let me tell you what we have been quoted as a price for webcast of two show rings and then the sale ring. We have 1 business that has shown interest. Their bid is $5,000.00 plus expenses. ( not sure what all that will be but I'm guessing 2-3 airplane tickets, rental car, couple nights in motel room or rooms and food while they are here as well as tickets to get in gate at the Great ISF. So total it all and a guess would be on the +side of $7,000.00 This business recommended that we sell advertising on the webcast page to cover the costs. In the last week I have ask 2 boar studs if they think that having the sale webcast would help them sell more semen and both have answered that they didn't think so. 1 went on to say that within minutes of a new picture they have posted on their Facebook page about their purchase and that hits all of their friends. Neither said they wouldn't be interesting in advertising because they both think that if all of the other studs advertise they cant afford not to be part of it.

The couple of years we did broadcast the event we had a total of $500 per year invested. I can live with that. 6-7 g is simply too much in our opinion.

We at Crossbred Classic Inc. have never taken any money for advertising or sponsorship ever. I always thought I wanted to keep it that way.

Not saying we won't broadcast the event next year. Planning to ask more questions over the weekend and see what interest there is.

If someone reading this wants to pay for the service get in touch with me next week.

Doubt anyone wants to pay to watch? (pay per view?)

Wish those of you that have ask could be there in person. If you have never been its simply impossible to explain.

We have been very blessed that it has grown into the event that it has.

Hope this explains our decision.

Thanks

Thanks for responding Dean. I would pay $20.00 for an "all access package". I think alot of people would. Not saying you would make money at it but might be worth a try next year.

I would glady pay as well. I would pay months in advance if need be to be sure the funds were in place to make it happen. I never missed a broadcast when Edjecast was covering the NSR shows. Now that they have quit, all of us that live so far away and cannot attend these great events are out of luck. Seeing the Crossbred Classic would be the ultimate for me.

Because of the time of the year, we just can't get there and aren't able to get to the open houses either. Having the opportunity to see the boars drive would be really nice. I would be willing to pay in advance to watch the show and sale.
