AI question

Post by porcine » Tue Oct 14, 2014 6:06 pm

I have two York gilts in standing heat. May have bred the one too early. I am using two different York boars. I have one extra bottle of semen from the other boar. I want to just give it to the gilt that was bred using a differnt boar but these are purebreds. Is it allowable to register a litter. I think she may have took. But I hate to find out she didn't.

If you use 2 different boars, you will need to DNA each pig in the litter to properly register them. If you definitely plan to register the litter, then I wouldn't put the extra dose in her.
