Sullivan heads up

Post by futurepigbreeder » Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:48 am

Does anyone own a Sullivan Heads Up whip? What do you like/dislike about it, how do the pigs respond to it, how well is it made, and how's the grip on it (leather, gel, etc)? Also is it worth the money I'm trying to decide between a showmaster, a titan stick or the Heads Up

My daughter bought one to use this year. Very well made with a leather handle. Pigs responded well to it too. A little more pricey, but worth the money. She had a gel handled one with the single thread whip on the end. After one year, the gel was leaking and the whip had fallen off the tip while showing.

Sancho Whip is what we purchased this season!!!

Brother purchased one of the Sullivan whips and it was actually heavier to use it seemed like really wasn't comfortable.

Heavier towards the end, after working with his pig for a short time my forearm felt like it had been through a workout. Sancho whips nicely balanced, tassel end is designed to where you can replace it yourself as it wears over time.

Heads up trainer and sanco whips are two different type of products. The comparable sullivan product to the Sancho whip if the heads up whip. The heads up trainer is made of aluninum and is much firmer that a whip. We like to use the heads up trainer while they are young and starting out and then when they get the hang of it switch over to whip ( either sancho or sullivan heads up. I prefer the longer 39" heads up whip to the shorter sancho or 36" heads up)
