Door wind block
With winter soon to be here we're researching a wind block for the barn door. It's a 4ft slider door that we keep open for the sows to go in and out to the pasture. What can or do folk use for a wind block in the door way or can you make a "hoggie door" Just looking for ideas.

In the food service industry they have vinyl strip doors for walk-in refrigerators don't know how pig proof they would be. For smaller doors I have seen people use mud flaps for semis. You might also look into getting some used conveyor belt material.
Don't squat with your spurs on.

I was thinking the same thing. I was just hoping someone had done this before and had some pros or cons. You know a sow herd, if it's not bolted down they'll carry it away! lol
Re: Door wind block
We use mud flaps but conveyor belt is more durable. We're just out of it for now.
We have an old hog house we keep some sows in and made the door frame with 1/4 inch steel and welded 4 bolts to the frame to go through holes in the mud flaps and then have a piece of flat steel that holds the whole thing tight. They'll still tear mud flaps up but that is easy to replace.

Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.

The plastic/vinyl strips are not very durable. They are easily destroyed but not easily digested . Yeah it was bad.
