Fitter 35 (When to start)

Post by Kroeter » Tue May 16, 2017 9:11 am

kgb

i have a pig with plenty of cover. 170 lbs, we are 62 days to weigh in. My plan is fitter 35 top dress muscle him up. When would you start this and how much

Currently he is on 709 and has been 2.1 lbs per day for over a month.

290 is our max weight

Thanks

The pig can AVERAGE gaining 1.94 lbs per day (290 - 170) / 62 days = 1.94 lbs/day.

I indicate that because feeding 2 or more lbs per day of High Octane Fitter 35 will slow growth somewhat because it is low in energy (calories). If you are wanting to merely add muscle, then starting now replace 1 lbs of 709 with 1 lbs of Fitter 35 per day.

If you are wanting to reduce jowl fat and put some shape in the pig, then replace 2 lbs of 709 with 2 lbs Fitter 35 / day for the final 3-4 weeks, depending upon how much help the pig needs.

At 170 lb, 6 lb per day is what the pig needs. You might be able to do with a bit less since you are feeding 709. So, 4-5 lb per day of 709 and 1 lb per day Fitter 35.

KGB,

Do you recommend fitter 35 or Champion drive to help develop a more defined loin when you have 45-60 days to work with ? Does it depend on whether or not you what to burn fat or are there other factors that you look at ?

Thanks

Fitter 35 really works well to "sculpt" muscle... put more definition into shape. Champion Drive produces as much muscle, but doesn't burn fat. It really depends upon the pig, how much fat cover it has or doesn't have. We are entering a period where progressive judges are looking for a bit leaner pig, but yet still fresh, youthful etc...

You can feed Fitter 35 for 45-60 days but keep a critical eye on fat cover. Maybe the best way to put it is, Fitter 35 does kind of what Paylean does but much slower, and without the increase in growth rate. I say kind of because nothing LEGAL works like Paylean does. But if you have time, Fitter 35 can help with muscle without the side effects.
