Honor Show base and correct use

Post by pigman92 » Sat Jun 03, 2017 9:43 am

We have fed the honor show base the last couple of years. I feel like our early growth is good and then our pigs tend to stall out. When we order feed, we get 2-3 weeks worth at a time. We tell the mill the approximate weight of ours pigs and then they mix it.

How can we better match our pig's needs to the feed we give them? Can the show base formulation in the ration be more tailor made to our pigs. I believe in the product and the science behind it, but looking to see if there is any advice to help us get better results.

We are looking at water also as an area to improve to promote gain. Also, can you give a recommendation to feed for lower third fill and mass? Thanks.

A few questions, so I can answer your questions better:

- what do you mean by stall out? can you give me an example?
- do you know what the local mill is mixing (exactly)? do you have the formula of what they mixed?
- what do you mean by looking at the water to improve growth performance?

Yes is the answer for customizing your own diets with the HSC Showpig Base. Please send me an e-mail and I will send you the Formulator to use with HSC Showpig Base. kgburgoon@landolakes.com

For lower body third add High Octane Ultra Full to the pig's daily feed.
