THANKS KGB

Post by CT » Sun Jun 29, 2008 10:38 pm

Thanks in advance for your help. I have a very powerful york barrow currently weighing 150 with 90 days till the show. I was wanting to slow his growing down to 1.5 lb/day without lossing his mass. He is currently on the 19.5% grower. If i feed him half of the filler and half 16% will he go backwards.

Hello. Don't have near the experience in swine nutrition as KGB, but i would not start the "holding" or "slowing" process until over 200 #'s. and then reavaluate what you need. just my opinion. Mark

I would say 150 lbs is the minimum weight you want to even think about holding or limiting growth. I guess I prefer 175 lbs myself.

But yes is the answer to your question; 2 lbs HONOR Showpig Grower (or Finisher or 16) and 2 lbs Powerfill per day should get you right at 1.5 lbs gain per day.
