Stiff movement???

Post by crw483 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:49 am

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have a gilt that has swollen hocks and is stiff when she walks. I have started giving her lincomycin 300 shots. I know that it takes about 5-7 days worth of shots to work. Is there anything else that i can get to put in her feed or water as a joint supplement that might also help her to move more freely???

I would also like to know would it hurt to give the rest of my showpigs the supplement to help to open them up a little more too?? Also I have all of my pigs on a self feeder and the flex fluid supplement you give for horses that some people use says to pour on the feed in the am and pm but all of my pigs are on feeders. What should i do and how much should i use???

We've used In Motion for years and love it! We get ours from Sullivans.

i would take her to a vet and see if she might have strep. we have had that before and thought it was pplo or something else. linc will not helpwith strep.
