3 weeks to fair and need weight

Post by gatorsgirl27 » Thu Mar 03, 2016 4:16 pm

We've got 23 days till our fair and our barrow is at 214 and gilt is at 202. Minimum weight is 240 so I'd like to hit at least 250 because we're about 30 minutes from the fairgrounds. Plan on taking feed, Ensure and cold, wet towels to try to keep them from losing too much while we wait for weigh in. Anyway, everything was going well until the last couple of days. They have both become picky and not finishing their feed.

Barrow: 10 lbs of Sunglo 18%, 16 oz Heavyweight, 8 oz Powerfuel and 8 oz steam rolled oats broken into 2x daily.
Gilt: 8 lbs of Sunglo 18%, 16 oz of Heavyweight, 8 oz Powerfuel, 8 oz steam rolled oats and 4 raw eggs (started last week) broken into 2x daily.
Exercised every day 30 minutes in the evening.

Like I said, everything was going well until about 2 days ago and both have quit finishing when they used to clean their pans. Thought they might be wormy so started them on Safeguard. On day 2 today. We also added some goat milk replacer and slopped their feed last night. They ate for a while but then stopped with quite a bit left in their pans. We can't afford any hick ups, especially with the gilt. Are we trying to "to do much" with everything we're feeding? Should we cut back on something? We've been on this regime (minus the goat milk and eggs) almost since day 1. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA
