Peace Pellets

Post by mginn0224 » Mon Jan 02, 2017 11:25 pm

I know that peace pellets are originally intended for cattle. But I was wondering if anybody has fed them to show pigs to help calm them down? If so, did it work?

Peace pellets are a feed additive that are given to cattle to help calm them down in order to break them easily, or if they are very high strung, it is suppose to help calm them before they show. They are made by Sullivan Show Supply.

Just found a site, Oxy-gen, that has pelleted calming supplement. Main ingredient is tryptophan. Have it for all livestock. Have a picture of a pig on the label. They give loading dose directions for 7 days and then maintenance dosing/continued loading dose. oxy-info.com. Not sure if it works. Just saw it on their web site.

He have always used a vitamin B-complex that is available over the counter at grocery stores and it works very well to help calm pigs down before we load up to go to shows
