High protein only "burns" off cover when there isn't sufficient energy in the diet. When you have high protein and high energy you don't have a problem.

Sweet Tea....KGB is correct......of course I don't need to verify his feed knowledge but an easy to look at it is like the human diets like Atkins. YOu have protein and then fat as energy or in a low fat diet you have protein and carbs and then low fat.....but the carbs are energy. In a balanced diet you would have correct ratio's of protein/fat/carbs. Protein is not a "fat burner"....in human diets if replace lets say excess fat inyour diet with lean protein you will get leaner. Protein is the muscle building fuel for the body..........I use higher protein feeds still today than most guys do, I like the muscle a little extra protein can provide it keeps the pig in positive nitrogen balance(never running out of usable protein) then I simply add more fat to put a smoother cover on those hopefully big correct muscles.

Good Luck-Derek
