Hi i'm a new user and i was wondering if anyone could help me.
i have a show pig ( york/hamp cross) and i really need to cut off his weight gain. what can i do to keep him healthy but not gain weight. some people have told me to feed him wheat bran, will that help? any help is greatly appreciated.

whats the weight and what are you feeding and whens the show?

270 now (weighed w/ a not 100% accurate scale that is usually a little over on the weight. i am hoping!) show in 15 days max weight 280. showmaster finisher and wheat bran.

i would feed 2.5lbs of the regular feed a day and then if its a market hog 9grams of paylean and all the beet pulp it wants. You can get your pig up to 290 before you leave and still be able to get it back down to 275-280 range easily its just keeping it fresh. Make sure you are walking your pig a couple of hours a day to try to get some more weight off it.

1-2 lbs. feed, 9oz paylean, moistened beet pulp w/out molasses.
If ya don't raise champion children, the livestock won't really matter.
