Bred or Not? for Hog Doc or Dr Amy

Post by insulator » Mon Jan 30, 2012 9:41 pm

Have a York gilt that was bred on Christmas Day and the day after. 21 days came and went and no signs of heat. This past Friday morning (33 days) we were loading for the NJSA and she looked like she was starting to swell. When we got home Sunday eve she did not look as though she had swollen to the point she usually does when in heat nor was there any evidence that she had any discharge. She was not standing nor was she today. Does it sound as though this could have been a fals heat? or is she possibly bred? Thanks for any input

Could be either way - only way to know is to preg check with an ultrasound. Or just wait for a couple more months.
