We finally got our local feed store to carry some of this product. Once you get it you will not regret it. It is worth that much in shipping vs losing a momma &/or litter and the hundreds of potential dollars. The 5 pound bucket lasts forever.

The 5 pound bag came with a zip lock thing on the top. We only brought out a small amount to the barn and left the rest inside our pig med cabinet at the house. We had 10 sows and had a bunch left over. I was going to call them and find out myself but looking at the weekend now.

I just used Transrite for the first time. The sows farrowed quickly, without incident, all babies alive and the sows got right back on feed. I will never farrow again without it. :D

I want to know the shelf life as well. ( can you freeze it etc) I will try to call and post back here, unless mtbkmom finds out first.

There is nothing in this product that is going to degrade over the time you would use a 10 pound bag even if you just farrow a half dozen sows.
The only thing I could see potentially causing an issue is the fact that it will take on water if exposed to humidity. Keep the container sealed and you should be fine.

I don't see any reason to freeze it just seal it up and keep it dry.
