Bare with me as I am new to this.
I have a cross gilt that I think is coming into heat. This would be her first ever heat cycle. She was born Dec 10, 22. That would make her about 6 months old.
Her vulva is very swollen and her appetite hasn’t been good. How can I be sure she’s in true heat? No discharge, no erect ears or high pitched whining. She won’t stand when I press on her back. She’s really just being lazy and very pin sour. Not wanting a exercise at all.
Also, I don’t want to breed her right away but how many cycles does she need to go through before I can AI her?
Any advice would be great as this would be our first time breeding. Thank you.
