I'm wondering what the piglets would look like.. Duroc sow A.I. 'd from a York boar. Would they be red butts instead of blue butts? Or would they look more like a spotted hog.. Would a chester or landrace fit the bill more so than the york? I'd like to try it, but need some advice from those who have more experience...Thanks
James

We've crossed Duroc boars with white sows that were mostly York. The pigs were white or roan. We didn't see any "red butts".
My personal opinion is that Durocs are best bred straight rather than crossed if you're looking for showpigs.
