Landrace Boar Advice

Post by bcbully » Sat Mar 08, 2008 11:56 pm

Our gilt is a fast growing (149 days to 250) Landrace

Breeding:
Sire Samson 287-4
Dam's sire Pikkus 214-4

She is wide made with good capacity, fairly expresive in her muscle patern and has good bone.

Would like to make the following improvements:

#1 priority to make her taller fronted
#2 priority to make her leveler over her top
#3 priority more fluid in her movement
#4 priority more muscle and bone

Considering the following sires:

Supreme Power (Shaffer?s)
Hot Wire 7-3 (Shaffer?s)
Monopoly (Triple B)
Supreme Court (PSSS)
Park Place (LVS)
Tanbark 348-1 (SGI)

If you have any others please suggest. Looking for opinions.

Thanks for the help...
Brian

Its hard to say not knowing what the gilt or sow looks like but had a barrow pig out of Monopoly was a well put together pig.
