Just trying to find out--what is "Superman" out of. I can see him mixed up a lot with Super 7, Batman, Joker, Super Nova, but can't find what is Superman bred from??? How long ago was he being used? Does someone still have him or who had him???

Rick Whitman had Superman. He was sired by Super 7. Not sure if he is still around.[img][img:b173903636]http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy12 ... perman.jpg[/img:b173903636][/img]

Whitman still has superman. I saw him a couple weeks ago. He is still impressive. Super sound, big legged, huge top. Bigger framed and long fronted. Rick said that he hadn't collected him in a while. In my opinion he could help some of the dumpy quick females who are outside themselves

What other boars were impressive at Rick's place. Any new ones?

Saw Superman back in April and the description above is right on. As far as the boars go we went through all of them. The standouts in my mind were Bonafide, Back Bone, Ultra, and the Baconator. All had different pieces that could be used to make show pigs better. Bonafide was huge boned. Back Bone was really square. Ultra was really really complete from head to tail. Baconator was huge middled, take him to extremely muscular, tight ribbed females that need more middle.

I was just there, but didn't realize how deep and how much "Superman" ran through a lot of Crossbreds. I went there to look at the bred gilts before the online sale, and we purchased the gilt that is a Hill Billy Bone X Superman 202-86 and bred to Back Bone---man did I like Back Bone (3 shots of Super 7)---looks like a freakin' rectangle from the top--front to rear just as square and big boned AND moves his rear legs straight forward---none of that swinging his rear legs out to step forward and absolutely no heel clicking...he just hits his stride. Anyways....real excited about this litter in August and we got the Joker X Midnight Express gilt bred to Mile High from Shafer's online sale--again there is Superman (which made me start looking a little more at this guy) and at least 3 shots of Super 7 that I can figure out---this is one of our July litters and can't wait to see these little buggers...

Man, I have been here thinking about this. I guess Rick didn't even mention or show Superman because he didn't use him in the gilts/sows he had for sale. I didn't even see him on his website for current or past boars--that's why I was asking about "where/what is this boar?" If he looks half as good as his picture, he still looks like he could work on a lot of pigs and still finish with "today's look." Going to pick up my gilt tomorrow and ask him what is he going to do with the ol' man.
