Just curious what people think of this boar. Any information about him would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have one that is a little taller gilt. She is a little hard in her design and plenty of shape. She has been hard to get softened up. She has correct structure. Bought her as a market and I don't have any information on the bottom of the pedigree.

I had an April litter. Only had 6 pigs weaned 6 and all 6 pigs have been sold for show. I kept the only guilt out of the litter and she has been a stand out since day 1. The 5 barrows have all went through stages of being my favorite some have been alittle slower to impress but all look good at this point in the game. Good bone, depth and shape. Iused him on a pure york.

We have had roughly 6 litters of hilljack pigs and he has done a tremendous job for us. If you use him on sows that look terminal or are bred for muscle, he will work every time if you want to add bone, guts, body, in a structrually sound package. Will definatly be using him again this fall. I believe he is the cheapest per dose, $100, hillbilly bone son that has bred on so far. He is a "piece" boar but bred to right sows he hits everytime!!

what type of females did you breed him too?

have the barrows that you have seen out of him look good when they fully mature and are at market weight?

Ive just heard that that hillbilly bone line produces good females but nothing great on the barrow side

I thought the barrow at bedford was really massive, huge topped, but narrowed at the ground on both end front and back. Thought the third overall heavyweight barrow was better

I judged Hunnington County fair. That gilt was massive and monster boned. She was 280+ and handled it OK. Her stamina wasn't the best. If I could have changed her, she could have gotten out with more length of stride on both ends. She started to tighten up as the show rolled on. That was where I beat her with the Blue Butt gilt.

If she is any indication of the types of hogs out of Hilljack, then he needs to be used!

we had one litter of hilljacks on a bring it on/blackattack and got along very well with them two seconds in class and two thirds and two class winners, very consitant litter, they got a late start but came on hard in the end.
