Sky's the limit?

Post by SwineGuy89 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 12:25 am

I have a gilt that I wanted to breed sky's the limit to. I have a couple questions before I make a final decision though.
Here are the main questions and concerns I have.
*Does sky's the limit sire true "producer" females? Or mainly terminal hogs?
*Do the offspring have appetites and gain well?
*Are his offspring tall at the point of the shoulder?
*Do his offspring have any flaws that are reoccurring (example: sloping shoulders, weak Pasterns?)
VERY IMPORTANTLY
*HOW LARGE ARE HIS OFFSPRING AT BIRTH AT AVERAGE, LARGER OR SMALLER?
Thanks in advance for any answers! :P
It's not all about being the heaviest muscled hog, Its about balance.

I recommend you call and talk to Moyer. I don't think anyone has bred more females or farrowed more Sky's the Limit than them. I think they'll be straight with you and can help direct you to the best boar for your gilt.

I agree with Bonefreak about Sky Cam, he will also make pigs that look better at a young age than his sire. I still recommend calling the Moyers.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if "making his father look bad" as in a positive or negative sense. Glad to hear the that it's positive.
