If you are serious about growth in hamps you need to buy frozen semen.

I am guessing you are referring to pulling from boars no longer alive or producing? Is there a website for a semen bank that is frozen that you can order from? Or is that the problem?

Big cat Daddy at southern gold has worked for me. Pure Hampshire litters have pushed 2.2 ADG from 50 pounds on.

The specific question was asked - current showpig selection has nothing related to common sense or practicality.

Frozen semen offers a chance at practicality.

I have performance hamps and others but do not sell semen so not an option.

May check with breeders like mike Williams if you want live animals.

What sort of growth rates are you seeing with the frozen semen?
What are your resulting litters sizes?
The storage, insemination technique, and alleged smaller litter size are what has scared me from using. Seems a bit trickier to get them settled. Not saying the genetics don't have merit, just provided a boar that has worked in my system.
