hartman, our whiskey joe pigs grew about 1.8 wda with out pushing them hard. We bred two gilts to our boar Twice Denied....He is on out website. berlingshowpigs.com I wouldnt use him again though all the pigs i have seen out of him weren't very good.... and i wasnt very impressed with ours except two gilts.

well there is a wayne county fair in ohio too. this year i'm gonna try to find a good multicolored gilt. at this past fair the grand champion and reserve champion were both hampshires and that's what my pig was. but all the years i have watched the hog show the colored (not all white) pigs won. so i think some color must improve the appearance or something.

a good pig is a good pig no matter the color. but black belted is def. more eye appealing.

yeah but i think spots r pretty too. the one that was next to my pig was very nice looking but it was too rounded in the rear end, so i guess it did not look right to the judge. but the color of it was appealing. i really want a spot but there is not many around where i live!

4-H gilts: We have a litter of spots, we will be selling them in the 100-150 dollar range. They are1-20-10. FYI 90% of the time a Cross, York, Hamp, or Duroc will win the show. Spots ect are good if you want to win a breed, but usually do not win grand overall honors jmo.
