Does paylean have a withdrawal time before slaughter?

Paylean® delivers up to 20.6 percent increased average daily gain (ADG) and up to
15.2% in improved feed efficiency (FE). Because the present formula to calculate the
lean gain index in swine derby shows places a significant value on ADG, a Paylean®
advantage may be noted in derby shows. Also a feed savings may be realized due to
the improvement in ADG and FE but it may be offset by the increased cost of a
higher protein diet and the cost of Paylean®

It absolutely does improve weight gain significantly. It works best in animals that are already eating well and gaining normally.

It has some risks:

1. It can cause attitude problems, especially in stress positive pigs.

2. Pigs need to be structurally correct, especially in movement, or it can exacerbate those issues.

i had intentions of finishing my daughters 4h pigs, on a paylean enriched feed. She is going to finish on the extreme high end with her pigs and may risk going over weight. Would it be best to scrap the feed we already bought with paylean in it (250#) to not risk finishing over weight ? This would be are first year in 4H. the feed is kalmbach smooth design 18 fortified, it has the paylean added directly to the mix.

Depends on pigs:
weights
days till weigh in
max weight
fat cover
muscling
soundness

Not all pigs should be fed paylean

We have 32 days until fair weigh ins. Both pigs are sound, with decent body muscle. The male is a tad on the chubby side and the one I am worried about going over. If he stays on track from the last weigh in he will be 294 pounds max weight is 300

We typically only use Paylean the last two weeks maybe 18 days. You have time to evaluate and make the decision later.

Just a thought Paylean does 3 things:

1. Increase muscle
2. Decrease body fat
3. Increase growth rate

High Octane Fitter 52 does 2 of those things:

1. Increase muscle
2. Decrease body fat

Fitter 52 does NOT increase growth rate. The feeding rate is 1 lb per day. To trim jowl fat etc... remove energy or fat supplements from the pig’s diet when you add Fitter 52.

If I am feeding 7lbs of feed a day, how much paylean do I add to the feed daily?

I depends upon the Paylean product and the ractopamine HCl concentration (they are all different). For High Octane Paylean 900 it is 1 oz (1 scoop) in 5 lb of feed.
