Reid and Tessa Helgoth started Flying Pig Ranch in Burwell, Nebraska in 2022. The pair takes pride in raising quality hogs and hope to improve the Hereford breed while competing at the highest level.
Reid took an interest in the swine industry during his years in 4-H after helping a buddy show at the state fair. “We had always jokingly talked about Hereford pigs and I kind of became obsessed with them after doing some more research,” says Reid.
Today, between finishing school and rodeoing, the Helgoth’s focus on Hereford pigs and have a few crossbred sows at the farm.
